Pinecone Till

Working offline

The till keeps working with no network. Sales are written to the device first and sent to your account afterwards, so a dropped connection never stops a queue.

While offline, three things behave differently: card payment falls back to the terminal's own offline mode, stock counts shared between two tills stop reserving, and the day's report shows an asterisk until everything has synced.

Syncing starts on its own as soon as the connection returns, and takes about a second per hundred sales. You can force it from Settings, then Sync now.

If the same product was sold on two offline tills and there was not enough stock for both, neither sale is rejected — the stock count goes negative and the next count tells you by how much. That is deliberate: refusing a sale that has already been paid for is worse than a wrong number.

Nothing is deleted from the device until it has been confirmed by the account, so a tablet that breaks before syncing can still be read by support.
